This post is basically going to be just pictures of my room, so you'll get to be almost as familiar with it as I am!
| This area tends to be the coldest part of the room. |
| Electric burner. |
| This toilet isn't fancy like the ones in the hotel or in public bathrooms. |
| It took me a while to notice the shoe cabinet. |
| See this comfy-looking bed? Don't try to sit on the edge of it, or you'll slide right off. The futon is wider than the mattress, so it hangs over the edge. When I'm sleeping, I have to be careful turning over or I'll roll right over the edge. The bed is too narrow. |
| I don't know what the top two are for, but the middle two control the bathroom fan (on/off, strong/weak) and the lights (room and bathroom). The bottom left controls the heat/AC. I don't know what the bottom right does. |
| The heater/AC. I have it set to 20 degrees C, otherwise sleeping under my futon gets too hot. Somehow, even when it's blowing warm air it makes me cold. But it keeps the main part of the room warm, although its heat doesn't reach all the way to the door. |
| The fuse box. |
| My awesome desk chair is new, comfy, and spins, unlike my Lothrop chair. |
| Where I decided would be the most out of the way place to store the trash bags. |
| I noticed the drawers. |
| This toilet paper holder is so much easier to manage than any American one. |
When I unpacked my suitcase, I discovered that most of my clothes were wet and stained brown, but it was too late at night to start washing them and making a racket with the laundry machines, so I hung them up all over my room to dry.
| Then I ate dinner. |
| And then I noticed the instructions and realized I didn't eat it properly. It was delicious though. |
To be continued in the next post, where you'll get to see my first glimpse of Kobe University's campus!
Oh, cute! Your room's an apartment! :D (PS: Making food with one burner is an excellent adventure.)
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried making anything yet, since I only got a pot recently and I have no idea what to make or how to make it. But I see your point. Hmmm...this will take planning.
DeleteHi there! I really enjoy reading your blog and I have a question for you! I am going to study at Kobe University this fall and I'm currently in the process of selecting my student housing. I really like Kokui and was wondering if you have an estimation on the rate? I know the school website has a few of the fees lined out, but it doesn't include electricity. Could you give me an estimate? :) ありがとうございます!
