Intro to Me as a 2014 Fulbright Fellow

You've probably seen that my blog hasn't been updated for a long time. I apologize for the hiatus, and assure you that I had a fulfilling experience while in Hikone, Japan at the Japan Center for Michigan Universities. Maybe in the near future I'll post a "Summary and Highlights" post of that time.

Now I'm back in the US, getting ready to go to Japan again, this time as a Pitt graduate and a Fulbright Fellow. (A big thank you to my professors, advisors, family, and various supporters who helped me achieve this honor.) The Fulbright U.S. Student Program (http://us.fulbrightonline.org/) is a scholarship program hosted by the US government in partnership with a variety of countries that allows graduates to conduct research or teach English in foreign countries. During the course of my preparation to go abroad this time, I've discovered that quite a few prominent researchers on Japan have been Fulbright recipients.

I will (hopefully) be detailing my adventures here throughout my stay in Japan. If not, my research will eventually be published in a journal or book sometime. My stay in Japan will be from September 2014-July 2015.
