10am 7-11 (to buy Softbank prepaid card for my phone) and
starbucks (internet)
11:30am campus, talk with guard, arrive at M-sensei’s office
at 12
Lunch at the south campus cafeteria outside with spiders. Was
freaking out internally the whole time as spiderwebs drifted down on my head.
Then we got drinks on north campus. M-sensei treated me.
Then we split up and I went to Exchange room.
I meet K-chan, A-san comments on my sausage curls, paperwork
2:30pmish go with K-chan to post office on North campus to
set up bank account. Unable to deposit money unless its cash. Need money as
proof of budget
After 3pm, call American exchange students, but they’re at
IKEA
Go back to econ office to use computer and ask about used goods
4:40pm leave for apartment. First time going directly
from/to campus. Takes 20min-30min
Meet up with exchange students at about 6:20pm at Tohoku
University Hospital. Exchange students: 3 Americans, 2 Germans, 1 Denmark. All
speak English but minimal Japanese because they are in the English language
program. Go to used bike shop, but they don’t seem interested or impressed by
the price (7000-10,000 yen ($70-$100)). Sale of 4000 ($40) yen bikes happening
next weekend at their dorm.
Go to shopping streets and play in arcade, then go to Daiei
to shop. Buy dehumidifying powder traps. Eat dinner. Go home with the exchange
students (train station at 9pm, train at 9:30pm, walk to their dorm, meet their
friend, and walk home. Pass church and another potential bike shop on the way.
Get home past 10:30pm. Set up dehumidifying trap.
